Why Most Digital eBooks Are Now In PDF Format?
I remember a few years back, most digital ebooks are in the form of a compiled "exe" file. The file with an exe extension. For example an ebook with a title "How to buy cheap ebook online" would have its file named as buy-cheap-ebook.exe. Nowadays, most compiled ebooks with exe extension are long gone. The reason is that most users are unwilling to open this type of file because they are vulnerable to virus. Realizing this, most ebook publishers publish their digital ebooks in the form of pdf format. A format initially popularized by Adobe. They are safe from virus and can even be password protected. Years back, shame to admit, I was too ignorant about this pdf format. I just happened to go to Clickbank Marketplace, a major ebook web site, downloaded an ebook and simply didn't know how to open it. Finally a friend of mine told me to install Adobe Acrobat Reader in order to open and read the ebook. What a hassle, you have to install something in order to read something! Things now have changed, most major browsers such as Internet Explorer and Firefox now support this pdf format. You don't need to install anything in order to enjoy your favorite digital ebook. Just open it using any browser.
